We woke up this morning to rain. I must admit I enjoyed putting on a sweater! After coffee, we drove into St. Anthony to get our first look at the town. We stopped at a Tim Horton’s for another coffee and a doughnut, then did a little exploring. It didn’t take very long. We are in a remote part of northern Newfoundland and villages are small with very few amenities. The Tim Horton’s is what makes this one feel bigger. We drove to the end of the main road in town where we found the obligatory lighthouse and some beautiful views. The rain had stopped but the wind had picked up. It made a rocky and wild coast look even more amazing.
From there we drove down a few more roads into nearby villages… really not much more than a few pretty houses and some fishing boats. In the town of Great Brehat, there was a boardwalk and series of stairs leading to a beautiful lookout. It was quite windy by then, but it was fun to look around. I enjoyed checking out the plants and even popped a few wild blueberries in my mouth!

After we were done exploring, we stopped by a grocery store and headed back to the RV. We spend the rest of the day reading and watching some TV. It was nice to just relax. We defrosted some split pea soup I had brought along, had a glass of wine, and called it a day. Tomorrow we have a couple of group activities so we’ll be back at it!
