Yesterday was such a fun day! Because we didn’t set our R.V. clock behind after crossing the border, we were actually dressed and ready to go an hour earlier than we thought it was! We had a pretty quick drive to Marc and Karen’s place, arriving shortly after 11:00. I had told Steve we needed to get there early because Marc was putting something on the smoker… I didn’t tell him the real reason. So, when we arrived, Marc was gone and nothing was on the smoker. Steve was a little disappointed, I could tell, but I couldn’t tell him where his brother really was… yet.
So, we visited with Karen and watched the confusion on Maggie’s face when we arrived. She had adopted Karen as her new mom, and now she had two! She was very excited to see me while still keeping Karen in her sights as well!
A couple of hours later Marc arrived, and shortly behind him came Shauna, his daughter who is visiting from Florida. Very soon after, the rest of the family arrived, much to Steve’s surprise! His brother Scott and wife Cindy, and sister Vicki and her husband Rick all showed up to surprise Steve for his birthday! It was so fun, and we totally pulled off the surprise. The drinks started flowing and for dinner we had steaks and all the goodies that go with! Tomorrow, we are having a huge lobster feed! That is where Marc was… picking up FORTY lobsters! They have invited a few friends to join, but Marc bought enough for each of us to have three! Holy-moly! The day is supposed to be sunny and warm, so it should be a perfect day to cook outside. What a fun it will be to celebrate Steve with two of his favorite things… family and lobsters!
So the party was a huge success! We had the fam here and some friends of Marc, Karen, and Shauna’s came, too! There was WAY too much food, which was awesome! We started with about a thousand steamer clams, then had lobster, corn, French bread, two salads, and birthday cake! Oh… and lots of beer, wine, whisky… So fun!
